Institute of RF- & OE-ICs (IROI) of Southeast University (SEU) lying in 4th floor of "Liwenzheng Building" of Sipailou Campus of SEU, has been established since October 1, 1997, under the support of the University, the Ministry of Education of China and many other organizations. The founder and the director is Prof. Dr. Zhi-Gong Wang, a famous expert in IC design for ultrahigh-speed, radio-frequency and opto-electronic applications.

At moment there is a team of 30 staffs including 9 professors and 2 associate professors, 3 post-doctors, 35 PhD-students and 100 postgraduate. In the 8 IC design rooms of a total area of >1000 m², different IC design tools from Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Agilent, Huada, and so on are available for all of teachers and students. In the 100 m² IC test room there are more than 20 advance IC test-equipments.

As one of the 3 MPW service centers of China, IROI has opened more than 10 foundry processes including 0.13 mm RF-CMOS of TSMC and SMIC, 0.35 mm SiGe BiCMOS of STM, 0.2/0.15 mm GaAs PHEMT of OMMIC, and 0.13 mm SiGe BiCMOS of IBM. More than 500 types of ICs have been realized successfully in 50 technological runs.

Our researching fields focus on the design of RFICs, MMICs, ultrahigh-speed ICs, OEICs, SOC, and ICs for biomedicine. The applications include wireless mobile- communications, optic-fiber communications, ultra-high speed data transmission networks.

All of IROI members hope to make cooperation with universities, institutes, and industries in the related fields and together to make more contributions to the development of IC techniques and industries.
